Significance
A highly regioselective cobalt-catalyzed C-H transformation of benzo[h]-quinoline and phenylpyridine derivatives with Grignard reagents has been disclosed. The reaction proceeds at room temperature in the presence of TMEDA as ligand and 2,3-dichlorobutane as oxidant.
