Significance

The authors report a chemoselective Pd-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of a range of substituted aryl bromides with methy­lene-bis(pinacolato)boron. Various benzyl boronate derivatives are accessible by this method. Notably, also highly bulky substituents on the aryl bromide can be present.
