Significance

A magnetic Fe3O4@mesoporouspolyaniline core-shell nanocomposite (Fe3O4@mPANI) was prepared through the oxidative polymerization of aniline on PVP- and SDBS-substituted porous magnetic Fe3O4. Fe3O4@mPANI promoted the coupling of phenols and aryl chlorides to afford the corresponding diaryl ethers (23 examples, e.g. 3a-c, 53-99% yield) without deforming or aggregating of Fe3O4 nanoparticles.
