Significance

There are few methods for synthesizing β-amino ketones. Herein, the authors developed a nickel-mediated tandem isomerization-Mannich reaction from allylic alcohols and N-tert-butanesulfinyl imines to form β-amino ketones and β-amino alcohols with high diastereo- and enan­tioselectivity.
