Elektrolytveränderungen aus der Sicht des Palliativmediziners
Publication History
Publication Date:
22 June 2012 (online)

Summary
During the last month of life 75 % of all patients will show changes of electrolyte’s in blood. Only few of them have a clinical importance. Nearly a third of all patients have to be treated because of electrolytic changes. Four case histories should present the important clinical signs of hyponatremie, hypokalemia, hyperkalemia and hypomagnesemia during the end of life. From our point of view therapy should be restricted to a minimum. Symptomatic treatment approaches should be preferred because of the end-of-life situation.
