Zusammenfassung

Das neurobiologische Bild der Schmerzempfindung und Repräsentation hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten deutlich verändert. Schmerz wird zunehmend als multikausales Geschehen wahrgenommen. Das Begreifen der Komplexität in der Interaktion der unterschiedlichen Teilaspekte steckt noch in den Kinderschuhen. In diesem Kapitel soll dargestellt werden, wie Schmerz derzeit neurobiologisch gesehen wird.
