Zusammenfassung

Es ist wissenschaftlich belegt, dass Epidemiologie und Pathophysiologie der koronaren Herzkrankheit und des Herzinfarktes viel mehr Facetten haben, als der praktisch tätige Arzt gemeinhin vermutet. Eine entsprechende Erweiterung des gegenwärtig ganz überwiegend medikamentös ausgerichteten Therapiekonzeptes könnte zu einer entscheidenden Verbesserung von Verlauf und Prognose der häufigsten Herz-Kreislauf-Krankheiten führen.

Abstract

Scientifically it is well established that the epidemiology and pathophysiology of coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction have many more facets than the general physician usually knows. If their therapeutic consequences were added to the present pharmacologically dominated concept of treatment, this could advance course and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases.
