Significance

(+)-Dactylolide was isolated from the Vanuatu sponge Dactylospongia and shows modest cytotoxic activity. Zampanolide, a structurally related compound, has greater cytotoxicity with IC50 values of 1-5 nM against several cancer cell lines.
