Significance

An instantaneous catalytic Suzuki-Miyaura reaction was achieved in a microchannel reactor having a polymeric palladium complex membrane. Thus, the catalytic membrane PA-TAP (40 mm x 1.4 mm x 140 mm) was constructed inside the microchannel (100 mm width, 40 mm depth) via a ‘ship-in-a-bottle strategy’ of self-assembling complexation at the interface between EtOAc and the aqueous phases flowing laminarly, where a non-crosslinked polymer-bound phosphine and (NH4)2PdCl4 dissolved, respectively.
