Significance
In a previous study on the W(CO)5(L)-catalyzed cyclization reaction, the authors expected that the cyclopropyl carbene intermediate could be further utilized in a Cope rearrangement to form a seven-membered ring system. As predicted, the authors demonstrated this reaction catalyzed by W(CO)5 and Et3N to form various useful bicycle[5.3.0]decanes.
