Significance

Clavosolide B is a dimeric cyclopropane-containing metabolite of the sponge Myriastra clavosa. The key steps in this synthesis are the hydroxyl-directed cyclopropanation leading to A and the Yamaguchi macrolactonization to form a 16-membered lactone.
