The Editorial Board of Seminars in Hearing and the audiology community are mourning the loss of our dear colleague and friend, Dr. David Baguley. Dr. Baguley was an award-winning, internationally recognized pioneer in our field who authored more than 150 publications/textbooks, served as an editor or reviewer for myriad journals, and presented his work in countless local and international meetings. He was a leader at Cambridge University Hospitals for many years prior to becoming a Professor at the University of Nottingham. He has been publicly recognized for his contributions to professional audiology organizations across the world. In the UK, he was instrumental in championing changes to the service delivery of audiologic care. His work in the field of audiology continues to significantly influence the evaluation and treatment of patients who are suffering from tinnitus and decreased sound tolerance. Clinicians use his research to support their patients and educators use his eloquently written text to educate their students. Dr. Baguley will be missed by all who are inspired by his passion for the field of audiology, his thoughtful and innovative approach to research, his ability to transform complicated concepts into digestible pieces of information for learners, and his unique ability to connect with others. Dr. Baguley joined the Seminars in Hearing Editorial Board in 2001 and served enthusiastically throughout his tenure. His wise counsel, energy, and kindness will be missed.
