ABSTRACT

This article presents an overview of the hearing disorder known as auditory neuropathy/dys-synchrony. The primary diagnostic indications are described that will help audiologists recognize this disorder and consider the appropriate habilitation efforts that should follow. The article also highlights results that have been observed in 10 children who have received a cochlear implant at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.
