Where have Peptic Lesions Gone?

Summary
The endoscopic diagnoses of the GI unit of a hospital department and of the private practice of a gastroenterologist were compared in a prospective study. Peptic lesions were found twice as often during endoscopy of GI outpatients than of GI inpatients. The results suggest that nowadays diagnosis and treatment of peptic lesions are largely a domain of private practice.
