Abstract

Undifferentiated tissue cultures of Trigonella occulta were examined for the presence of sterols and sapogenins. The isolated sterol mixture obtained from the tissue culture contained diosgenin, gitogenin, tigogenin, and sitosterol as determined primarily by 1R and mass spectroscopy. Small amounts of stigmasterol were also detected.
