Abstract

The powerful cytostatic activity of iguesterin, a new hydroxymethylenequinonoid di-nor-triterpene, isolated from Maytenus canariensis for the first time in this laboratory, was demonstrated. At the same time related compounds were studied in the hope that some connection between structure and activity could be suggested, as well as the mechanism of this cytostatic action.
