Abstract

Extracts of Galbanum, the gum resin of Iranian species of Ferula gumosa Boiss., were qualitatively evaluated in vitro for antimicrobial activity. It was shown that they possessed antimicrobial activity in cultures as well as in disperse systems. Emulsion preserved by solutions of galbanum extracts and stored up to six months showed no change in physical or organoleptic characteristics.
