ERYTHROPHLEUM – ALKALOIDE

Abstract

The occurrence, chemistry and structural classification of the Erythrophleum alkaloids are reviewed. Also, results of the pharmacological investigations with this class of cardiotonics and those of molecular modifications are summarized. Structure-activity relationships, as they appear in previous publications are further analysed in the light of own experience.

Zusammenfassung

Inhaltsstoffe aus Pflanzen mit herzaktiver Wirkung erweckten immer reges Interesse. Nur wenige Substanzklassen verfügen jedoch über eine derartige Wirkung. Zu ihnen gehören die Erythrophleum–Alkaloide, die im pharmakologischen Versuch eine den Herzglykosiden vergleichbare positiv–inotropelnegativ–chronotrope Wirkung auslösen [1].
