Summary
The radical leaves of Digitalis mertonensis Buxt. & Darl. are shortly petiolate. The lamina of the leaf is ovate to broadly ovate, having acute to obtuse apex, widely serrate to toothed margin, a distinctly decurrent base and slightly hairy surface, showing a chequered appearance. The petiole is short, flattened, hairy, and winged by the decurrent base of the lamina.
Micro–morphologically, the leaf is dorsivenral, contains stomata of the anomocytic, rarely anisocytic, types, as well as glandular and non–glandular hairs, but is free from fibres and calcium oxalate.
