Summary

The antibacterial activity of extracts obtained from the overground parts of 16 Centaurea species was studied. In the dilution of 5 per cent (5 parts dry vegetable drug to 100 parts culture medium) the inhibition of the development of Salmonella typhi murium and Shigella shiga strains could be observed.
