Summary

Investigations on four leguminous seed oils, namely, Acacia arabica, Dolichos lablab, Trifolium alexandrinum and Poinciana regia were carried out. Quantitative paper Chromatographie as well as ultra violet spectrophotometric analyses were employed for the elucidation of the fatty acid composition of the four seed oils. The total saturated fatty acids were also estimated using permanganate oxidation method.
