Introduction
Alimentary tract duplications are rare congenital anomalies. Diagnosing these malformations can be a challenging task. Because an incorrect diagnosis may have severe consequences, it is of great importance to consider the presence of an enteric duplication in case of abdominal symptoms. Here we demonstrate some of the diagnostic pitfalls by presenting a patient with an infected duplication of the ascending colon.
