Significance
The authors reported a novel asymmetric cascade reaction that is catalyzed cooperatively by cationic rhodium and silver complexes. The tetrasubstituted alkenes were obtained in good yields and excellent enantioselectivities. Furthermore, tetrasubstituted alkenes with helical chirality were obtained with excellent enantioselectivity after single recrystallization, which can be applied to light-driven molecular motors.
