Significance

A palladium nanoparticle cored Fréchet type G1-dendrimer (Pd-G 1 ) was prepared according to equation 1. Pd-G 1 is an excellent catalyst for the chemoselective hydrogenation of C=C or CºC bonds of 1 to the corresponding C-C bonds of 2 in up to 99% yield at room temperature under hydrogen atmosphere (22 examples).
