O,S-Acetals of Diethoxyphosphinylformaldehyde and Orthoesters of Diethoxyphosphinylformic Acid by Anodic Methoxylation The O,S-acetal of diethoxyphosphinylformaldehyde (6) is prepared from diethylmethylthiomethylphosphonate (3) in 70% yield by electrolysis in CO2-saturated 0.1 molar sodium methoxide/methanol solution. Orthoesters of diethylphosphinylformic acid (8) are synthesized from acetals of the type 7 by anodic methoxylation under the same reaction conditions.
