ortho-Functionally-substituted aryl iodides react under mild reaction conditions with vinyl- and isopropenylcyclopropane and isopropenylcyclobutane in the presence of palladium(II) acetate and an appropriate base, potassium acetate, triethylamine or sodium carbonate, to afford 2-(1-alkenyl)-substituted 2,3-dihydrobenzofurans, indolines and indans in good yield.
