(4-Aryl-1,3-butadiinyl)amines 5 are prepared in a two-step synthesis: Palladium(II) catalyzed cross-coupling of arylacetylenes 1 and 2-bromo-1,1-dichloroethene (2) furnishes the 4-aryl-1, 1-dichloro-1-buten-3-ynes 3, which are transformed into 5 by two equivalents of lithium diorganoamides.
