Dimethyl 1,2,3,4-tetrahyro-4-oxoquinazoline-2,2-dicarbamates 4 and dimethyl 1,2-dihydronaphth[1,2-d]oxazole-2,2-dicarbamate (8) result from reaction of 1,3-bis(methoxycarbonyl)-S-methylisothiourea with substituted 2-aminobenzamides and 1-amino-2-naphthol.
