The First Synthesis of Bis-Fused 1,10-Phenanthrolines via Double Photo­cyclization of N,N-Disubstituted o-Phenylenediamine

Abstract

Bis[1]benzothieno[2,3-c;3′,2′-i][1,10]phenanthroline was prepared in four steps starting from o-phenylenediamine with a double photocyclization as the key step to construct the 1,10-phenanthroline moiety.
