Abstract

A reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatographic method has been developed for the determination of the main compounds (harpagoside, scorodioside, and verbascoside) from differents samples of Scrophularia scorodonia. The chromatographic method has been validated and applied for quantitative determination of harpagoside. The results show the highest levels of harpagoside in the leaf extract. The purity and identity of peaks were controlled by diode-array detection and comparison with standards.
