Abstract

The effect of the Chinese herbal medicine “Saiko-Keishi-To” (SK) on transmembrane ionic current was examined to elucidate the mechanism of the anticonvulsant action of SK. SK caused a decrease in tramsmembarane sodium, calcium and potassium current. SK was also found to inhibit the negative resistance characteristics in an experiment using a voltage clamp with triangular command.
