Significance
A series of novel polymer resins, SLURPS, exhibiting relatively uniform swelling properties for a wide range of solvents was prepared via cationic polymerization of vinyl ethers. The loading value of the functional group was readily controlled by changing the mixing ratio of the monomers 1 and 2. The functional group of resin 4 was converted stepwise into OH, Br, NH2. Solid-phase synthesis of a pentapeptide Leuenkephalin was performed on the SLURPS resins as solid supports to demonstrate their synthetic utility.
