Zusammenfassung

Durch eine kurze Plombe, die auf einem Silastic-Trägerband fixiert ist, wird gezielt im Makulalochbereich eingedellt. Dadurch können intraoperative Komplikationen durch zentrale Fixationsnähte vermieden werden; außerdem erübrigen sich Kryokoagulationen, die größere zentrale Ausfälle zur Folge haben.

Summary

The macular area is indented with a short Silastic sponge explant. The fixation sutures of the carrier sheeting are positioned outside the posterior pole. The rate of intraoperative complications can thus be reduced. Additional coagulations are not necessary and therefore the risk of an enlarged central scotoma is minimized.
