Abstract

If bold action is taken, and first aid at the scene of the accident is quickly initiated, the extent and depth of burns can be reduced.
Order of procedure at the scene of accident is rescue, temperature reduction, removal of clothing, positioning, supervision and information for the treatment-centre to which the patient is removed. The significance of temperature-reduction, and the indication for hospital admittance are discussed in detail.

Zusammenfassung

Durch beherztes Handeln und durch die schnelle Einleitung der Erstversorgung am Unfallort kann das Ausmaß von Verbrennungsausdehnung und -tiefe reduziert werden.
Die Reihenfolge der Maßnahmen am Unfallort ist Bergung, Kühlung, Entfernen der Kleidung, Lagerung, Überwachung, Abtransport und Information an das Behandlungszentrum. Dabei wird besonders auf die Bedeutung der Kühlung der verbrennungsverletzten Partien und die Indikation zur Krankenhauseinweisung eingegangen.
