Abstract
Quantitative determinations of bitter components in Swertiae Herba were carried out by using high speed liquid chromatography. The bitter components were present in all the samples analyzed. The contents varied from 0.054 to 0.562 % for amarogentin, trace amount to 0.254 % for amaroswerin and trace amount to 0.454 % for gentiopicroside.
