Abstract
A Colony of Bulinus (Pbyopsis) globosus has been established in our laboratory for testing for molluscicidal activity in Nigerian medicinal plants. The snails were established with slight modification of the method of McClelland [7].
181 plant extracts employed in Nigerian herbal medicine were screened for molluscicidal activity following the W. H. O. method [1] with laboratory reared snails of known age. Only 23 (12.7 %) of these plant extracts, however, showed 100 % mortatility to the snails at a concentration of 100 ppm of extract.
