Abstract

The natural occurrence and chemical variability of the phloroglucinol derivates of Mallotus philippensis were studied in freshly collected materials from India. Rottlerin, isoallorottlerin and the "red compound" are considered as naturally occurring compounds. The phloroglucinol composition of M. philippensis is relatively constant in materials of different origins.
