Significance
The authors report that Lewis acid co-catalysts promote the stereo- and regioselective intermolecular hydrocarbamoylation of alkynes and 1,3-dienes. Furthermore, intramolecular hydrocarbamoylations were performed successfully, providing a novel approach to the synthesis of lactams.
