Significance

Recently, the authors reported the nickel-catalyzed denitrogenative alkyne insertion of 1,2,3-benzotriazin-4(3H)-ones (Org. Lett. 2008, 10, 3085). In this paper, they applied this method to the allene insertion for the regioselective synthesis of substituted 3,4-dihydroisoquinolin-1(2H)-ones. Furthermore, the enantioselective version of this reaction was presented.
