Significance
A lanthanum tricyanide catalyzed acyl silane-ketone benzoin addition is disclosed exhibiting a wide substrate scope. The resultant α-silyloxy ketones can be resolved using a CBS reduction with selectivity factors ranging from 9 to 15.
