Abstract

The palladium-mediated intramolecular coupling reaction of 2-[(3-substituted-phenoxy)methyl]quinolines for preparing chromeno[3,4-b]quinolines was explored. The results of the cyclizations gave convincing evidence for an electrophilic aromatic substitution mechanism under standard Heck conditions.
