Significance
Hydrogenation of cyclic imines is an efficient method of forming pyrrolines, pyridines, and azepines. Titanium, rhodium, and ruthenium catalyst systems have previously been developed for asymmetric hydrogenation of cyclic imines. In this report, the authors use an iridium system to effectively hydrogenate such imines.
