Significance

Hydrogenation of cyclic imines is an efficient method of forming pyrrolines, pyri­dines, and azepines. Titanium, rhodium, and ­ruthenium catalyst systems have previously been developed for asymmetric hydrogenation of cyclic imines. In this report, the authors use an iridium system to effectively hydrogenate such imines.
