Ectopic Thyroid with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis Presenting as Goitrous Hypothyroidism
Publikationsverlauf
Publikationsdatum:

Introduction
Dermoid cyst, thyroglossal cyst (TGC), and submental lymphadenitis are common causes of upper midline neck masses in children. Ectopic thyroid (ET) tissue can also present as an upper midline neck swelling. We report a unique hypothyroid case in which Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) of ectopic thyroid tissue resulted in an upper midline neck swelling mimicking a thyroglossal cyst.
