Abstract
We report an unusual case of spontaneous haemothorax in a 13-year-old girl with isolated
costal exostosis. Surgical excision of the exostosis was performed with complete resolution.
Costal exostosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of spontaneous
haemothorax in children in order to avoid unnecessary investigation and to establish
an adequate treatment plan.
Hémothorax causé par une exostose costale isolée
Nous rapportons un cas inhabituel d'hémothorax spontané chez une fille de 13 ans en
rapport avec une exostose costale isolée. L'excision de l'exostose a été réalisée
avec guérison. L'exostose costale peut être envisagée dans le diagnostic différentiel
des hémothorax spontanés chez l'enfant, dans le but d'éviter des investigations inutiles
et d'établir un plan thérapeutique efficace.
Hemotórax causado por exóstosis costal aislada
Presentamos un caso raro de hemotórax espontáneo en una niña de 13 años con exóstosis
costal aislada. Se realizó extirpación de la exóstosis con buenos resultados. Esta
entidad debe ser tenida en cuenta en el diagnóstico diferencial del hemotórax espontáneo
en niños con el fin de evitar estudios innecesarios y para establecer un plan adecuado
de tratamiento.
Hämatothorax verursacht durch eine isolierte Rippenexostose
Wir berichten über einen ungewöhnlichen Fall eines spontanen Hämatothorax bei einem
13-jährigen Mädchen mit isolierter Rippenexostose. Die Exostose wurde reseziert, was
zu einer vollständigen Heilung führte. Rippenexostosen sollten bei der Differentialdiagnose
eines Hämatothorax berücksichtigt werden, um unnötige diagnostische Maßnahmen zu vermeiden
und eine adäquate Therapie einzuleiten.
