Significance

The authors report the first enan­tioselective aza-Diels-Alder reaction of imines with Danishefsky’s diene catalyzed by a niobium-based chiral Lewis acid. It should be noted that high yields and high enantioselectivities were obtained with both aromatic and aliphatic imines.
