Significance

A palladium nanoparticle catalyst Pd/urea-MCF 1 was prepared by self-reduction of Pd(OAc)2 with the urea ligands on the MCF surface. The Pd/urea-MCF catalyst was used for the Suzuki coupling (89-99%, 8 examples), the Heck reaction (84-96%, 8 examples), the transfer hydrogenation of ketones (80-99%, 12 examples) and of epoxides (86-99%, 8 examples), the hydrogenation of alkenes (99-99.9%, 8 examples), and the reductive amination of aldehydes (99.9%, 6 examples). Catalyst 1 was reused without any loss of catalytic activity.
