Significance

A silica-supported monophosphine iridium complex, silica-SMAP-Ir, catalyzed the regioselective C-H borylation of ester-functionalized heteroarenes 1 with bis(pinacolato)di­boran (2) to give the corresponding 3-borylated heteroarenes 3 in up to 99% yield (eq. 1).
