Zusammenfassung

Manipulation oder Mobilisation? Diese Frage stellt sich nicht nur bei der Behandlung der Wirbelsäule. Obwohl die Anwendung von Manipulationen an der Wirbelsäule sicherlich weitaus bekannter und wahrscheinlich sehr viel häufiger ist als an den peripheren Gelenken, kann die Manipulation am Fuß unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen eine gute Möglichkeit sein, um Schmerzen zu reduzieren und die Beweglichkeit zu verbessern.

Die vorliegende systematische Literaturübersicht stellt heraus, dass Manipulationen am Fuß zudem ein geringes Risiko an unerwünschten Nebeneffekten beinhalten.

Abstract

Manipulation or mobilisation? This question does not only occur in the treatment of the vertebral spine. Although the application of spinal manipulation is certainly much better known and probably used more often than manipulation of the peripheral joints, under certain conditions foot manipulation may be used in order to reduce pain and to improve the mobility.

This systematic literature review demonstrated that manipulation of the foot bears a low risk of unwanted side-effects.
