In the course of preparing a series of convenient building blocks for the construction of cascade macromolecules, the need for facile, high yield procedures for amino-tert-alkanes from the corresponding nitroalkanes was apparent. This review summarizes the reduction of nitro-substituted tertiary alkanes.
