Abstract
Analysis of the overground part of Lolium temulentum L. led to the isolation of two main alkaloids: loline (B) and perloline (D). Loline and two minor alkaloids (A, C) are strictly localized in the caryopses, whereas perloline is found mainly in the stems. In tests for CNS activity loline · 2 HCl was uneffective in displacing prazosin, serotonine, QNB, bungarotoxin and flunitrazepam from binding sites of calf brain.
